What would Christmas be without Christmas markets? It is not only about finding the perfect gifts for your loved ones, it is also about the cosy and relaxed atmosphere when you are there. Walk around the market, drink some mulled wine and prepare for one of our favourite festivals of the year. Here you can find some suggestions for some Christmas feeling In Gothenburg.

HDK – School for Design and Crafts, Kristinelundsgatan 6-8

Every year there is always this heavy duty to find presents for people who already have everything. Try out the Christmas market arranged by design students. There you will surely find extraordinary and cool presents. Maybe even something for yourself. All the items are handmade and unique.

Julform at Röhsska Museum
The design Christmas market at Röhsska offers special and extraordinary presents. Former students of the school of design and crafts (HDK) continue the tradition to sell some of their master pieces. Moreover, you can even learn how to wrap your presents in the Japanese way. Each hour there will be tutorials. At the museum you can also get your Christmas fika, there will be Glögg, Pepparkakor and Lussebullar available. On Sunday afternoonyou can listen to the Gothenburg Lucia choir.

Old-fashioned Christmas market at Kronhusboderna
Here you can find Gothenburg’s most traditional Christmas market. Vendors are dressed in old-fashioned clothes and you can find all kinds of traditional crafts. It is even a place to get a nice, and again, old-fashioned fika.
Friday 9th until Sunday 11th – 11am until 4pm

How could there not be a Christmas market in the cosiest part of the town? Enjoy music and mulled wine while strolling around the market.

Gustav Adolfs Torg
Gothenburg’s probably most famous Christmas market will share the market square with the charity campaign Musikhjälpen this year. Every weekend until Christmas Eve you can enjoy about 30 different stalls.
Saturdays and Sundays, 11am until 4pm

Shopping Mall Frölunda Torget
This Christmas market claims to be Gothenburg’s cosiest and most old-fashioned one. Here, you can find over 20 stalls with craft and traditional food specialities. If you don’t find your presents there, you can still continue your search in the mall’s 200 shops.

Christmas Market at Nordstan
Since mid-November and until the end of the year, there is a Christmas market going on right in the middle of Nordstan. On December 13th you can even listen to a Lucia concert there.

If you really want to get into a Christmas mood, you are probably already on your way to Liseberg. Nothing beats their decorations, Christmas music wherever you go, reindeers and of course the stalls. You can get almost everything there – kitschy decoration stuff, Swedish design, foods, candles, chocolate, glögg and so much more…
