There are many ways of getting around in Gothenburg. Most students either buy a buss-pass or a bicycle. The most important thing is not what you chose but to have a strategy so that you can avoid buying expensive single tickets on the trams and busses.
Västtrafik is the name of the company responsible for the trams and busses here in Gothenburg. There is a big variety of tickets and the best choice for you of course depends on when and how often you travel.
